Our micropantry is getting a work out this year. We are filling it 2-3 times a week and it is emptying almost as fast as we can fill it. A big thanks to everyone who shows up on a Sunday morning with a bag of various shelf stable goods to help. While I am grateful that we have never run out of things to put out, I do wish the need was not so great.
This lent our contemplative prayer group spent time each Wednesday with two of the Stations of the Cross, taking an in depth look at this beloved Catholic tradition and how it related to our walk in faith.
As the new year began, we met to discuss what we wanted to do this year. It was decided that Saturday evening mass would be suspended for now, as everyone was able to make it to Sunday morning, and we were seeing fewer people on Saturday as the year went along. Most seats are filled on Sunday, even with several members traveling/out sick. I think if everyone showed up, we would have a spacing issue, but for now it is working with just one mass. We also have added several regulars via Zoom who are not local but have become a part of our Beloved community. We also decided to focus our contemplative prayer on a Lenten topic (the group is still deciding what focus to have) and will have another book study this summer.
